Renal failure Liver failure Cerebral haemorrhage HELLP - Haemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, Low Platelets Papilloedema Pulm oedema DIC Death

Failure of trophoblast invasion into spiral arteries –> uteroplacental ischaemia –> widespread endothelial dysfunction
Symptoms
May be non-sy Headache Malaise Vomiting Epigastric pain RUQ pain Visual disturbance Leg swelling
Signs
(HTN + proteinuria)
Hyperreflexia
HELLP
Papilloedema

Mum: Serial BP monitoring FBC U&Es LFTs Coag screen Group and save potentially
Baby:
CTG & USS
Treatment
You’re aiming to prevent worsening of condition and prevent seizures but remember that delivery is the only definitive treatment
Medical: Magnesium sulphate, STEROIDS, Anti-HTsives, IOL
Surgical: CS
