precision, balance, coordination, efficiency, rhythm, expressiveness, responsiveness, discipline

use exaggerated movements, etudes- blocks/steps of an action

counting technique- where the actors scrpits would be broken down into colomns: the first containing time of actions and the next containing the action to be complete. actors were trained to ensure they never arrived at a particular action one count to soon or too late. ensure fluidity in stylised movement.

focus of this idea that “actin is doing”- which means looking for actions to perform on stage. this does notmean the actor is always moving, but the actor has evaluated the characters emotions and motivation and turned than into an action. drives the actors movement and voice techniques
