Practicum 2 Flashcards
Types of Connective Tissue
Dense Regular, Dense irregular, Fibrocartilage, Elastic cartilage, Adipose, Reticular
Dense regular
Tendons and ligaments
Dense irregular
Reticular layer of dermis
Fibrocartilage
Found in the sinks of the knee and in the vertebral column
Elastic cartilage
Found tin the ear and epiglottis
Adipose
Loose connective, found in the subcutaneous layer, around organs and in bone marrow
Reticular
Loose connective, found in the lymph nodes, spleen, and liver
Four classifications of tissues :
Epithelial, muscular, nervous, and connective
Areolar loose connective tissue is found where
Under the skin, around blood vessels, nerves and organs, and in mucus membrane
Nervous tissue
Found in central nervous system, brain, spinal column, nerves and receptors
Muscle : cardiac
Found in the heart
Muscular : skeletal
Found attached to the bones of the skeleton
Muscle : smooth
Found in internal organs with a lumen, GI tract, blood vessels, glands, uterus, bladder, diaphragm
Connective tissue : loose : areolar
Found under the epidermis of the skin, mucus membranes, blood vessels and internal organs
Connective : loose : Reticular
Found in spleen, liver, and lymph nodes
