Practical Flashcards
Sample
20 King Eds students
Procedure
Record amount of time slept and do questionnaire to work out “aggression score”
Aim
To see if sleep correlated to aggression
Results
Observed value = 0.14
Critical Value = 0.2999
Conclusion
The Spearman’s Rho was 0.14 which shows a weak positive correlation. Following the Spearman’s Rho statistical test, the calculated value of 0.14 was higher than the critical value of 0.299. This means that the results were not significant at the 5% significance level.
Therefore, the null hypothesis that there will be no correlation found between levels of sleep and aggression scores, any difference will be due to chance is accepted.
Issues
Not exact time of sleeping
Shows correlation, not cause and effect
