PPGIS Flashcards

1
Q

What is the essence from the paper?

A

The rapid and large-scale development of renewable energy worldwide places
simultaneously more pressure on society and the natural environment. This also accounts for normal land use planning. Spatial multicriteria decision analysis (SMCDA) tools can help to locate suitable areas. The Consite tool is an example of this.

Q

What does the Consite tool account to? what is it what does it aim for?

A

The ConSite tool suite was developed to support integrated and participatory assessment of renewable energy siting within a spatial context. It builds up[on active stakeholder dialogue and sllows for weighted trade-off analysis. It visualizes the consequences of various trade-off / risk decision strategies or weight scenarios.

In this way GIS and MCDA uses participation in decision-making processes.
