Hot Zone
More serious
standard Level C PPE, incoming pt have had field decontamination only, Victims who are self-referring may have had no decontamination, will be triaged and sent through decont.
Warm Zone
Includes showers, receptables for personal belongings, supervising hospitalsstaff wearing appropriate PPE, Area for removing (doffing) PPE for receivers
Cold Zone
Level D PPE is adequate, decont. is completed, includes whatever infection control PPE is appropiate
Donning Level C PPE
- inner gloves (consider loosely securing with masking tape to facilitate removal of outer gloves)
- suit: zip to just above betline
- chemical protective boots
- respirator belt or vest, turn on battery
- respirator hood
- zip suit to neck with hood inner collar inside, adhesive over zipper, outer collar ovre shoulders
- outer gloves, seal w/ tape
Doffing Level C PPE
- Pass through decont
- stand in large plastic bag. remove outer gloves, drip into bag
- remove respiratory apparatus (not hood) with assistance, unzip suit
- step out of suit, step out of bag
- remove hood, drop into bag
- remove inner gloves
- shower and change to clean clothes

Atmosphere Supplying Respirator
includes self-contained breathing apparatus: like scuba, but not underwater
Air Purifying Respirator
Includes tigthly fitting mask w/ appropriate filter
Four Level of PPE
Level A- High level of risk, unknown
Level B- liquid splash protection
Level C- standard, 10min transport, concentration is known
Level D- work uniform, less risk of infection
