What is considered a big and small numbers in powers?

A

Numbers formed of at least six digits can be considered big or small numbers. the small numbers are decimal numbers and the big numbers are whole numbers.

What are the 3 rules of standard form?

A
  1. the front number must always be between 1 and 10
  2. The power of 10 n is how far the decimal point moves
  3. n is positive for Big numbers, n is negative for SMALL numbers.

How do you order numbers that aren’t all in standard form?

A
  1. convert all the numbers into standard form
  2. group the numbers with the same power together and order them based on power
  3. Finally order each group by the size of the front number - give the numbers in the form they are given in the question.
