What is Relative Poverty?
individuals who have income below 60% of median incomes
What is Absolute Poverty?
a person or household does not have the minimum amount of income needed to meet the minimum living requirements needed over an extended period of time
What is the poverty line?
People living below a poverty line donβt have enough to meet their basic needs. The poverty line in canada is an income below $11,000,
What is the working Poor?
People who work for a set amount of money but still do not have enough to provide for themselves or their family.
What is Family Planning?
the ability of individuals and couples to anticipate and attain their desired number of children and the spacing and timing of their births.
What is the Replacement Rate?
the percentage of an individualβs annual employment income that is replaced by retirement income when they retire
What is Population Momentum?
population growth at the national level that would occur even if levels of childbearing immediately declined to replacement level
What is Migration
the physical movement of people from one place to another
What is Immigration
the process of moving to a new country or region with the intention of staying and living there.
What is Urbanization?
the process through which cities grow, and higher and higher percentages of the population come to live in the city.
