A global measure of poverty, and is when you are unable to afford basic necessities such as food, clean water and shelter.

In 2013, it was estimated that over 767 million people lived in absolute poverty.

What is relative poverty?
A
When you are earning less than a particular percentage of a country’s average income. In the UK, people living on less than 60% of the median income are in relative poverty.
