- Reduction is sodium reabsorption leads to reduction in water reabsorption

Adverse reactions to amiloride?

- Hyperkalaemia
- Hyponatraemia
- GI upset

Drugs that increase potassium levels
- ACE-I
- Angiotensin II antagonists
- Aldosterone antagonists
These will increase the hyperkalaemia (may also occur with NSAIDs)
