It’s a modern theory of studying the causes, correction, and prevention of criminal behaviour.

Views it as a social construct arising from complex interactions between individuals to reproduce individual behaviour

How do postmodernist explain crime?
A
Explains crime as a social construct defined by the laws and institutions people have established against harmful behaviour. If this harmful behaviour occurs, it represses or reduces other people’s ability.

What are some postmodern criminology examples?
A
- Murder is a crime of repression because it results from a criminal who overplays their power over life and death.
- Political oppression in dictatorships. Dictatorships repress people, often denying them the ability to participate in free and fair elections.
