Action: extend and abduct hand at wrist
Extensor carpi radialis brevis
Origin: lat epicondyle
Insertion: 3rd metacarpal
Innervation: radial nerve (deep branches)
Action: extend and abduct hand
Extensor digitorum
Origin: lat epicondyle
Insertion: extensor expansion of medial 4 digits
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extends MP joint, assists in extending prox joints
Extensor digiti minimi
Origin: lat epicondyle
Insertion: extensor expansion of 5th digit
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extend 5th digits at MP and IP joints
Extensor carpi ulnaris
Origin: lat epicondyle
Insertion: 5th metacarpal
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extend and adduct hand at wrist
Supinator
Origin: lat epicondyle of humerus
Insertion: radius
Innervation: deep branch of radial nerve
Action: supinate forearm
Adductor pollicis longus
Origin: posterior ulna and radius
Insertion: 1st metacarpal
Innervation: deep radial
Action: abducts thumb at carpomeracarpal jt
Extensor pollicis brevis
Origin: posterior radius an interosseous membrane
Insertion: proximal phalanges of thumb
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extends at MP joint
Extensor pollicis longus
Origin: posterior ulna and interosseous membrane
Insertion: distal phalanx of thumb
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extends at MP and IP joints
Extensor indicis
Origin: post ulna and IM
Insertion: externaor expansion of 2nd digit (index finger)
Innervation: deep radial nerve
Action: extend 2nd digit, assist in extending hand at wrist
