It’s origin is the posterior surfaces of the condyles for femur
It’s insertions is the calcaneus via the calcaneal tendon
It’s actions is the flex the knee & plantar flex the ankle
Soleus origin, insertion & actions
It’s origin is the soleal line, proximal posterior surface of tibia & posterior aspect of head of fibula
It’s insertion is the calcaneus via the calcaneal tendon
It’s action is to plantar flex the ankle
Origin, insertion & actions for Plantaris
It’s origin is the lateral supracondylar line of femur
It’s insertion is the calcaneus via the calcaneal tendon
It’s actions are weak but it plantar flexs the ankle & knee
Tibialis Posterior origin, insertion & actions
It’s origin is the proximal posterior shafts of tibia & fibula & the interosseous membrane
It’s insertion is all 5 tarsal bones & the base of 2nd-4th metatarsals
It’s actions are to flex the foot & plantar flex the ankle
Origin, insertion & actions of Flexor Digitorum Longus
It’s origin is the middle posterior surface of tibia
It inserts on the distal phalanges of 2nd-5th toes
It’s actions are to invert the foot & flex the 2nd-5th toes
Flexor Hallucis Longus origin, insertion & actions
It’s origin is the middle half of the posterior fibula
It’s insertion is the distal phalanx of the 1st toe
It’s actions are to flex the 1st toe & invert the foot
