Long head origin is on the ischial tuberosity short head origin is the lateral lip of linea aspera

It inserters on medial shaft of the tibia at pes anserinus tendon

It’s origin is the ischial tuberosity
It inserts on the posterior aspect of the medial condyle of tibia
It’s actions are to flex the knee and medially rotate a flexed knee and also to extend the hip and tilt the pelvis posteriorly

It’s origin is the lateral condyle of the femur
It’s insertion is posterior aspect of tibia
