What was the Ebert-Groener agreement
Deal with the right-wing army where General Groener agreed to suppress lingering revolutionary activity in return for a promise that the government would maintain the authority of the army and its existing military offices
What was the armistice agreed on the 11th of November
Allies insisted that Germany withdrew from the occupied territories and colonies and surrendered armaments, railway rolling stock, the Navy and its merchant fleet as a condition of its acceptance. The Republic founded just two days earlier thus immediately became associated with a humiliating peace
What was the Stiennes-Leigen agreement
15th of November
Employers recognise the legality of unions and agreed to introduce an eight hour day.
Unions agreed to maintain productivity, end unofficial strikes and oppose the influence of the workers councils which were demanding the nationalisation of industry. An arbitration board was also set up to mediate in future conflicts.
Who are allowed to keep their posts despite their often outspoken and anti-Republican views

Opposition to Ebert
Eberts USPD colleagues disapproved of his actions and his cabinet broke up after an incident in December 1918.
The USPD police chief in Berlin opposed Eberts orders to put down the sailors pay demonstration by force.
3 USPD ministers resigned on the 29th of December so splitting the socialist ranks between the majority SPD and the small but extreme Spartacus group who felt the revolution had failed them.
At the end of December these Spartacists chose to create the KPD German Communist Party and to break up the election scheduled for January.
