Clinical features of PSGN
A
Typically in children > 5 years old.
7-10 days gap following GAS infection (Tonsillitis or Impetigo)
Haematuria
Oedema - Peri-orbital / peripheral / scrotal
Rapid weight gain from oedema
Oliguria
HTN

GAS antigens
Blood urea creatinine, ASOT, DNAse B

Management
A
Hospital admission
Bed Rest
Fluid balance chart
Daily weights
Penicillin if GAS +’ve
Fluid restriction
Low salt diet
Antihypertensives and diuretics as necessary
