A
Clean, Clean contaminated, Contaminated, Dirty.

What are the timescales that determine the degree of contamination? (TIP - infection…)
A
0-6hrs - contaminated.
6-12hrs - early infection.
12hrs+ - infection established.

What factors may effect wound viability?
A
Surgical technique, shock (vasoconstriction), lacerated wound/compression, devitalised tissues (prevents healing).
