Sudden onset, red or pale red patches on skin, unbearable itching, worse with exposure to wind cold/wind heat. Chills, fever, body aching, thirst, agitation. Tongue has a red body or no change at all, with a white or slightly yellow coating. Pulse is superficial and tight or rapid.
Dx?
Urticaria, Invasion of Wind.
Disperse wind cold/ wind heat, harmonize the yin and wei.
Acute onset, usually after drinking alcohol or eating shrimp and fish, red patches on skin with unbearable itching. Nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension and pain, poor appetite, fatigue, constipation or diarrhea, a dry mouth. Tongue body is red, coating is yellow and greasy. Pulse is slippery and rapid.

Dispel wind, clear heat, drain dampness and free the bowels.
Chronic and remittent onset, pale red skin rash with itching sensation, worse with taxation fatigue. Pale and lusterless complexion, poor appetite, insomnia, palpitations, SOB. Tongue body is pale, and coating is slight. Pulse is Fine and Weak.

Tonify the Qi and Blood, dispel wind and secure the exterior.
Recurrent onset which occurs 2-3 days before each menses and disappears with the stoppage of the menstrual flow. Irregular and painful menstruation. Tongue is dark purple, pulse is fine.

If face is pale red, it’s the Xu kind, bright red face is the Shi kind.
Red and pain ful lesions iwth pustules on the top, itching, yellowish watery discharge. Oily skin, strong appetite, bad breath, scanty dark yellow urine. Red tongue with thick greasy coating and slippery rapid or soft rapid pulse.

Enduring purple scars or nodular papules. Possible painful menstruation with clots. A dark purple tongue and or purple spots on the tongue. Pulse is wiry and choppy.

Short duration, coalescing of the skin lesions into a patch and thickening and coarsening of the affected skin with red spots and scarring. Tongue is red with red spots on the tip. Coating is Yellow.

Neurodermatitis - Wind-Damp-Heat
Long duration, a whitish gray colour of the skin in the affected area which also thickens and coarsens, dry skin, sloughing off of the scales. Palpitations, insomnia, fatigue, and weakness. Tongue is pale and the coating is white. Pulse is fine and weak.

Heat accumulation in the Stomach and Large Intestine.
Dull pain on and off, severe at afternoon and night, slight gingival swelling, loose teeth, slow onset. Absence of foul breath, dizziness, blurred vision, insomnia, dry mouth and throat, weakness and sorenes sin the lumbar region and knee joints. Tongue is red, and the coating is little and dry. Pulse is thin and rapid.
