The Privy Council: made up of leading advisors as well as nobles and very senior government officials(e.g. Sir William Cecil), approximately 19 members all chosen by the monarch, met 3 times a week, debated current issues, made sure monarchs final decisions were carried out, and made sure the rest of the government worked efficiently (monitoring the Justices Of Peace, influencing Parliament and keeping law and order).
