Analyse inclusion within communities preventing isolation
Inclusion means that individuals are involved in the same activities as the rest of the community. Due to this, they will feel valued and respected. The involvement provides access to social networks so the individual can widen their social group.
Analyse remaining in own home where familiarity and sense of belonging add to quality of life
Remaining at home is very important for most individuals as they may leave memories and possessions behind if they have to go to a residential home. They may feel worried about losing independence. Remaining at home, with support, means the individual will have choices, and feel empowered.
Analyse access to information and guidance allowing better choices
This is to help make good decisions about the support they need. Access to information and guidance allows for better choices. Individuals will feel more confident, if they feel like they have the facts. It is the local authorities duty to ensure individuals have all the information they need.
Analyse new opportunities
New opportunities, such as employment, further and higher education, are open to individuals who need services as they can pay for the necessary support they need to access these opportunities. Support is available and given at the time when they want it.
Analyse care limited to the prescribed budget
The individual is given a set sum of money. Once the money is spent it is likely that no money will be available until the next financial year. Individuals need to know plans for the coming year; otherwise they could miss out on funding. This can create a lot of worry and stress.
Analyse availability and access to some services may be restricted in some areas
Especially if the individual lives in a rural area and travel is difficult because of poor public transport. Some people will miss out due to a high- demand of services. There could also be a lack of trained carers.
