Positioning Flashcards
1
Q
Supine, cardiovascular
A
Increase blood in central compartment - increased preload - increased stroke volume. CO only slightly increases d/t decrease in HR. SVR also decreases
2
Q
Reverse t’burg, cardiovascular
A
BP head < BP heart. Decreases 2 mmHg for every 2.5 cm. CO decreased, dependent veins pool blood
3
Q
T’burg, cardiovascular
A
BP head > BP heart, increased ICP, venous return, RAP, PAP. Eventually decreases CO - d/t stimulation of baroreceptor reflex - increased BP causes decreased HR.
