lengthy ageing and generally high quality. Needs to be vintage dated, have 0.5% more alcohol than min requirement, reds: aged 2 years in oak followed by 1 year in bottle, whites: aged one year in oak followed by 6 mo in bottle. May be single vineyard or a blend, not restriction on grape varieties unless from a demarcated region (RD). Does not apply only to DOC wines
