A

Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C connector.

It has twice the bandwidth as THB2, uses less power and can provide 2 4K monitors with video.

What’s the difference between adapters and converters?

A

Adapters physically connect one component to another, allowing for different connectors to be utilised for different components.
Converters however, don’t just connect but convert the signal to achieve another goal. This would be something such as using a USB to SATA to treat a HDD as a flash drive.
