What are the different forms of video ports and cables?
DVI. Display Port. HDMI. Thunderbolt 1 or 2. Thunderbolt 3. VGA. RCA.
What is the difference between Thunderbolt 1/2 and 3?
Thunderbolt 3 uses a USB-C connector.
It has twice the bandwidth as THB2, uses less power and can provide 2 4K monitors with video.
What is the VGA often also referred to as?
The DE-15 or HD-15 connector.
Which connectors use displayport protocol.
Display Port.

3 rows of 8. 24.
4 for analog signals.
Flat pin called a ground bar.
How many pins does VGA have?
3 rows and 15 pins.
What are the different forms of connectors?

What is a hot swappable device?
A device that can connect and disconnect from a computer whilst the computer is powered on.
How many pins does IDE have?
34-pin for floppy dirves and 40-pin for hard drives and optical drives.
What different forms of adapters are there?
DVI to VGA adapter.
USB to PS/2 adapter.
DVI to HDMI adapter.
Molex to SATA adapter.
What diffferent forms of converter are there?
USB to Ethernet converter.
HDMI to VGA converter.
What’s the difference between adapters and converters?
Adapters physically connect one component to another, allowing for different connectors to be utilised for different components.
Converters however, don’t just connect but convert the signal to achieve another goal. This would be something such as using a USB to SATA to treat a HDD as a flash drive.
