What are adapter cards?
Adapter cards are add-ons to a computer that increase fucntionality by adding controllers for specific devices or by replacing malfunctioning ports.

Sound Adapter. Network Interface Card. Wireless NIC. Video Adapter. Capture Card. TV Tuner Card. USB Controller Card. eSATA Card.
What is the purpose of the NIC?
It allows for a connection to a network to be made through either a wired or wireless connection depending on the card.
What does the Capture Card do?
It sends a video signal to the computer, so that the signal can be recorded o s storage drive with video capture software.
What does a TV Tuner Card do?
Allows the user to watch and record television on a PC. It does this by connecting a cable television, satellite or antenna to the card.
What does a eSATA card do?
Adds additional internal and external SATA ports to a computer through a single PCI Express slot.
What are the different forms of expansion slot?
PCI. Mini-PCI. PCI-X. PCIe. Riser Card. AGP.
