Use POR to express:
the time during which an action takes place or its duration (during, for)
motion (through, by, along, around)
the object/goal of an action or a person being sought after

Use PARA to express:
time limits or specific deadlines (by, for)
destination (a place or recipient)
the purpose of an action (in order to + infinitive) or of an object (for + ing form of verb)
a work objective
in whose opinion (for)
