Q

Probability Sampling Techniques

A

simple Random: every element has an equal chance ( Ballot box, assigning numbers)
stratified: divides the population into small groups
Systematic: Every member is given a number and chosen at regular intervals
Cluster: Population is divided into clusters then the cluster is selected. ( Single stage- entire cluster, Two stage - random cluster, random elements of cluster)
Multi stage: Combination of one or more methods

Q

Non Probability Sampling technique

A

Convenience Sampling: samples based of availability.
Purposive Sampling: based on the intention of the study
Quota sampling: depends on a pre set standard
Referral/Snowball: when the first elements reccommend other elements
