Q

What is Population Momentum?

A

It is the tendency for a population to grow despite a fall in birth rate or fertility levels. It occurs because of a relatively high number of people at child-bearing age. When these people have children the greater number of births will exceed the number of deaths, and so the population will continue to grow.
