The economy continues to improve and people begin to plan the size of their family

Economy is delveloped
People live long lives and have few children this means that both death rates and birth rates are low
Population my fluctuate and grow very slowly
Eg Ireland

People are so concerned about their jobs that they have very few children
Population will decrease as birth rates are lower than death rates eg Germany
