What are the negatives of the one child policy
-The number of abortions have increased rapidly
-There are much more male babies because it is thought to be an investment as they will bring money to help their family
-Because there are more males than females this has led to more human trafficking of women
-in 2030 there will be 30 million more men than women and most of these men will be unable to find wives

What are the positives of the Chinese one child policy?
-Lowers the population of China
-Parents with one child are given a “one child” certificate entitling them to interest free loans, longer maternity leave and cash bonuses
-400 million births have been prevented by the Chinese government and they would not have been able to sustain them due to overcrowding and lack of infrastructure
-There is more competition in jobs so the jobs are normally done well because if they dont then they will be kicked out of the job
-The reduced number of births has reduced the pressure on food and energy resources
