A

i. Subacute onset of bilateral aching, tenderness + morning stiffness shoulders, hips + proximal limb muscles
ii. +/- fatigue, fever, anorexia, depression
iii. Mild polyarthritis, tenosynovitis + carpal tunnel

A

i. Inflammatory markers - ↑ESR(>40)/CRP
ii. LFTs - ↑ALP
iii. CK normal (distinguish between myositis/myopathy)

What is the treatment of PMR?

A
  1. prednisolone 15mg/day PO
  2. Reduce the dose slowly (1mg/m)
  3. Bisphosphonates for bone protection
