Third trimester or immediately postpartum

Polymorphic eruption of pregnancy: symptoms
A
- Pruritic, erythematous papules located within the abdominal striae
- Periumbilical sparing
- It progresses to the trunk and extremities
- Sparing of the palms and soles in the majority of cases
- Does not affect the face
- The lesions can coalesce to form plaques or wheals, often resembling target lesions
- Most of the time it resolves within 4–6 weeks from the time of onset
