What are the difficulties of recycling plastics?

A

It requires a lot of heat to melt and reshape so uses a lot of energy
it releases a lot of carbon dioxide
Some plastics are unable to be recycled
It takes a long time which adds to expenses
It must be sorted before you recycle it which takes a long time

What is polymerisation

A

Small alkene molecule is joined together to form a long chain called a polymer. in polymerisation the Alkene double bond opens up to a single bond and the monomers join together
