Syndrome of ovarian dysfunction with hypoandrogenism and cysts
Features of PCOS
Hyperandrogenism (Hirsutism, Acne)
Obesity
Irregular menstruation
Acanthosis nigricans
Diagnosis of PCOS (LABS) on 2nd day of menses
Increased Testosterone
Increased LH
Increased LH: FSH ratio
Increased fasting insulin levels
Increased Prolactin
Decreased sex hormone binding globulin
U/S features of PCOS
12 or >12 follicles in one ovary
Ovarian volume >10 ml
Rotterdam Criteria for Dx of PCOS
2 of 3 things
1. Amenorrhea/Oligomenorrhea
2. Hyperandrogenism (Acne, Hirsutism, Alopecia)
3. U/S >12 follicles in one ovary and ovarian volume >10 mL

Eflornithine cream
