- They have a great influence on collective behavior
What role does the Social Class play in Political Socialization?
Social class are a group of persons who share a similar socio - economic position
They deal with the types of events attended that can influence the level of exposure to politics

Individuals seeking to “fit in” can lead to rethinking of political loyalties
What is Secondary Political Socialization?
This relies less on relationship building and is less personal.
It occurs through institutions
What are the characteristics of Secondary Agents
- Greatest impact is said to be in the later stages of life
- Uses the direct method where political learning is received without disguised
What are some of the Secondary Agents
Educational Institutions - responsible for relaying political information
Political Parties - Try to socialize members to uphold and support the party
Religious institutions - Churches and mosques
*Shapes the belief and behaviors of people and can also shape political behavior
The mass communication media - encourages interaction with the population.
It provides means for propaganda, framing and agenda setting
