polarization

conservative

a political party that wants to lower taxes and focus on military power.

a political party that wants to help with labor unions, inclusivity, and equal opportunity

An electoral system with two dominant parties that compete in national elections.
bipartisan
the agreement or cooperation of two political parties that usually oppose each other’s policies.
electoral college
A group of people named by each state legislature to select the president and vice president
3 flaws of the electoral college
1) winner of popular vote may not win the Presidency
2) nothing in the Constitution nor in any federal law requires electors to vote for the candidate favored by the popular vote in their state
3) possibility of the House choosing the President
district plan
divides electoral votes based on congressional districts and not states
