Ross Perot won 18.9% of the popular vote. When that percentage was interviewed on who they voted for, most of them stated they would have voted for Bush. Therefore, Perot took away votes from Bush and was one of the factors that caused Clinton’s win.
How did Ralph Nader impact the 2000 presidential election?
Ralph Nader got 2.7% of the popular vote. The election between Al Gore and Bush was close, and exit polls showed that people who voted for Nader would have voted for Al Gore. Therefore, Nader took away votes from Al Gore and was one of the factors that caused Bush’s win.
