A violent attempt to overthrow the government and replace it with something different.
Putsch
Where everyone in the country refuses to go to work until a change is made.
General Strike
Someone who believes that the wealth in a country should be owned by the state.
Communist
The judges in a country. In Weimar Germany, they tended to be more Right-wing.
Judicary
A set of political beliefs that think that order and discipline are more important than equality or welfare. At the extreme end of this area are the Nazi party.
Right-Wing
The book Hitler wrote while in prison. It contains a lot of his racist beliefs and ideas on how he thought Germany should be run.
Mein Kampf
A type of government where more than one party work together to run the country. In Weimar Germany, these were often unstable as political parties couldn’t agree on decisions.

Spartacist uprising in Berlin.

Hitler becomes the leader of the NSDAP

Hitler plots with Kahr and Lossow to march on Berlin.
September 1923
Kahr and Lossow call off the rebellion.
4th October 1923
Hitler storms Beer Hall. Forces Kahr and Lossow to join rebellion at gunpoint.
8th November 1923
Nazis march into Munich. Met by police. 16 Nazis killed in fighting.
9th November 1923
Hitler arrested for his role in the Putsch.
11th November 1923
Hitler becomes famous in his trial and writes Mein Kampf in prison.
1924
Advocates for democratic socialism as an alternative to capitalism. They are vocally anti-fascist and anti-militarist. (Communists).
Left-Wing
An armed uprising in Berlin to overthrow Ebert’s government and set up a revolutionary Communist regime.
Sparticists Uprising
Assassinating those who were associated with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles.
Political Assassinations
An attempt to seize power from the Weimar Republic by Hitler and the NSDAP.
