Q2 INAD procedure (question too broad depends on if they are DEPA (accompanied) DEPU (unaccompanied) or Persons in Custody)
A: When appropriate, such passengers may be accepted if accompanied by an escort by Emirates Group Security (EGS)
Permission to carry such passengers must be given by DSVP-Group Security
Disruptive or potentially disruptive inadmissible passengers may be placed in restraints based on an evaluated risk assessment
Travel documents of unescorted inadmissible passengers should be handed to the purser for safekeeping to avoid the possibility of the passenger destroying them inflight, leading to fines to Emirates by the country of destination or transit
When it is decided that escorts are necessary, the ratio of the numbers of escorts to inadmissible passengers will be in accordance with the policy in respect to deportees (see below)
Captain and purser must be informed of the details of inadmissible passengers carried on their flight, including their seating locations
This information should be passed to crew before departure, along with the relevant travel documents
Q3 Minimum rest between duties?
A: Cabin Crew minimum rest:
One hour less than the preceding duty period or 11 hours, whichever is greater.
Q4 What is a local night
A: A period of 8 hours falling between 2200 hours and 0800 hours local time.
Q5 What does acclimatised mean?
A: Acclimatised when a crew member has spent 3 consecutive local nights on the ground
within a time zone which is 2 hours wide, and is able to take uninterrupted
nights sleep. The crew member will remain acclimatised thereafter until a
duty period finishes at a place where local time differs by more than
2 hours from that at the point of departure.
Q6 Which flights CRC/seat rest can be used for?

Q7 What crew are allowed to do on soft blocked seat rest?
A: When occupying these seats, crew can:
- eat crew meals
- read (not magazines provided for customers)
- use the IFE (with headphones)
- use a blanket
- Sleeping, or appearing to be sleeping (eyes closed) is not permitted, unless permanent curtains are fitted
- Crew can remain in uniform but waistcoat must be removed
- Professional image to be maintained
- The seat area must be kept tidy during rest/meal break periods and also after use
Q8 What crew are allowed to do on hard blocked seat rest?
A: When one single sector (either direction) has a block time of 9:30 and above When occupying these seats, crew can sleep eat crew meals read (not magazines provided for customers) use the IFE (with headphones) use a blanket Seat belts should be loosely fastened Waistcoat should be removed Area must be tidied up after use
Q10 Procedure for single food poisoning inflight
A: Raise a Catering Suspected Food Poisoning e-form and a KiS report under Catering > Food Poisoning with details
No need to report the incident through LICCC/CMT or Crew Duty Manager (CDM)
Isolation of sample is not required
Q11 Procedure for lost and found onboard outstation
A: Outstations
Complete the form
Place item and form inside the provided STEBs bag
Give bag and contents to EKAS staff meeting the flight
If the found item is larger than the bag, handover the form and item only to the EKAS staff
Write a KiS report to ‘Airport - Outstation>Lost and Found’ category including the bag serial number and brief description of the item
Q11 Procedure for lost and found onboard into Dubai
Into Dubai
5 drop boxes are in the Emirates’ Terminal 3 (3 airside and 2 non-airside)
Complete the form
Place item and form inside the bag (keep a note of the bag serial number)
Give bag and contents to:
EKAS staff if parked at the terminal
Flight Dispatcher if remote parked
Aircraft Appearance Team (if dispatcher is not available)
Receiver will deposit the bag and contents to the nearest drop box
Dubai Authorities staff will ‘log’ the item in their lost and found system
If the found item is a passport/purse/wallet/handbag/phone or the item is larger than the bag, call the Rapid Action Force Team (contact no. on the form)
Leave the form and item in an agreed location onboard
If no EKAS staff/dispatcher or Aircraft Appearance Team member is available:
Bring the item, completed form and bag to the Crew Operations Centre
Inform the Lost & Found Store
Deposit everything in the blue box in arrivals (before taking the escalator to Immigration)
Write a KiS report to ‘Airport - Dubai>Lost and Found’ category including the bag serial number and brief description of the item
Q12 Procedure for foreign objects
A: Get a product audit bag from the facilities container
If not available, use a plastic bag and make sure to secure it well.
Complete the foreign object report sticker on the bag
Make a note of the serial number. This is required for the CMT foreign object report and the KiS report
Put the foreign object and non-food product/item in the product audit bag
Do not keep perishable food items
If the foreign object is in a packaged item, keep the packet of food with batch details and expiry date in PAC
If possible take a photograph of the foreign object and item with the KiS tablet and email to Catering Quality Performance
Seal the product audit bag
Put the filled product audit bag into the plastic drawer inside the product audit container
Do not bring the foreign object to Crew Operations Arrivals
Complete a CMT foreign object report and a KiS report
Q13 How to request a wheelchair inflight into DXB
A: Customers requesting un-booked wheelchairs when onboard (Dubai only):
Purser/cabin supervisor to send a wheelchair request via the CMT
Enter the customer’s name, the flight number and a brief description of the customer’s injury/illness
Complete a medical incident report form (MIRF)
Do not include any wheelchair requests that are already listed on the PIL
Note: flight crew are not required to send a message before descent to DXB
Q14 How to request a wheelchair inflight outbound
A: Customers requesting un-booked wheelchairs when onboard (outstations only):
Purser/cabin supervisor to advise the captain (giving the customer’s name) who will advise the station via radio
Do not include any wheelchair requests that are already listed on the PIL
Q15 Maximum number of strollers in the cabin
A: Folding pushchairs
Use judgement in accepting a reasonable amount of baby strollers in order to assist families, provided space is available
A maximum of 5 such strollers with a folded width of no more than 6 inches each may be carried at any one time
If the folded width of the stroller exceeds 6 inches then the stroller will need to be stored in the aircraft hold
Strollers must be positioned with the wheels under the seat in front and the handles resting on the seat cushions, pointing upward
Seat belts must be fastened over the seat handles (refer to illustration)
Q16 What are the dedicated seats for UMs for different aircrafts/cabins
A: Seats to be pre-allocated for individual UMs or UM zone to be created for UMs
UMs should be seated next to a female customer
They should not be seated at emergency exit rows
Purser to make sure that UM/YP is handed over and introduced to crew allocated to work in that area
Listed below are preferred seats where UMs are to be allocated:
