Section 1 PACE
Powers to stop and search
Section 17 PACE
A constable may enter and search any premises for the purpose of
Arresting any person
Executing a warrant or arrest
Saving life and limb or prevent serious loss or damage to property
Indictable and either way only
Section 18 PACE
A constable may enter and search any premises occupied or controlled by a person who is under arrest for an indictable offence,
Search for items relating to that offence or
To some other indictable offence which is connected with or similar to that offence
Section 19 (2and3) PACE
A constable lawfully on premises may seize anything that may have been obtained in the course of an offence
Or
It is evidence in relation to the offence being investigated or any other offence
And it is necessary to seize in order to prevent it being concealed, lost, altered, damaged or destroyed (CLADD)
Section 22 PACE
Anything seized by a constable may be retained or taken away so long as it is necessary
(Retain seized items)
Section 24 PACE
The powers of arrest without warrant
Section 54 PACE
Search of person in a police station
Section 117 PACE
Power to use reasonable force in the exercise of the power.
Section 31 PACE
Arrest for further offence at a police station
Section 32 PACE
The power to enter and search any premises in which a person was when arrested or was immediately before he was arrested for an indictable offence or either way for any items relating to the offence arrested for.
Also allows a person to be searched after arrest for any dangerous item, implement for escape and evidence of a Crime.
