How do you dx lead poisoning?
A
Measure blood lead level
Also elevated urine gamma aminolevulinic acid (substrate in heme synthesis)

Pt tries to OD on theophylline. What should she be monitored for?
A
Seizures and tachyarrhythmias
acutely expect n/v abd pain diarrhea
Seizure is the major cause of motality in theophylline intoxication

What ABG findings would you expect in Aspirin OD?
A
pH 7.38
PaCO2, HCO3 - low
Respiratory alkalosis with anion gap metabolic acidosis (combo allows pH to stay within normal range)
