POH Flashcards
What is the total maximum capacity amount of fuel that can be carried on board.
What is the useable amount
Total capacity 42 gallons
Total usable 38 gallons
What type of tanks are installed on your plane.
Standard tanks
What is the horse power of the engine
150
What type of fuel is in the aircraft
100 low lead
What is the oil capacity
Sump 8 quarts
Total 9 quarts
What is the minimum oil needed
6 quarts
What is the maximum take off / landing weight
Normal - 2300
Utility - 2000
What is the maximum weight in the baggage area compartment
120 lbs.
What is the maximum weight in the under seat baggage compartment
60 lbs.
What are the baggage limits for the utility category
The baggage compartment and rear seat cannot be utilized
What does KCAS stand for
What does it mean
Knots of calibrated airspeed
Indicated airspeed corrected for position and instrument error
What does KIAS stand for
What does it mean
Knots indicated airspeed
The speed shown on the airspeed indicator
What does KTAS stand for
What does it mean
Knots true airspeed
Airspeed expressed in knots relative to undisturbed air
What does Va stand for
Maneuvering speed
What does Vfe stand for
Maximum flap extended speed
What does Vno stand for
Maximum structural cruising speed
What does Vne stand for
Never exceed speed
What is the difference between Vno and Vne
Vno can be exceeded in smooth air
Vne can never be exceeded
What does Vs stand for
Stalling speed or minimum steady flight speed
What does Vso stand for
Stalling stead or minimum steady flight speed in landing configuration with the most forward centre of gravity
What does Vx stand for
Best angle of climb speed
What does Vy stand for
Best rate of climb speed
What is standard temperature
15 degrees at sea level pressure altitude and decreases by 2 degrees every 1000 ft of altitude
What is Pressure altitude
The altitude read from an altimeter when the barometric pressure has been set to 29 (92 inches of mercury)
What is the reference Datum
An imaginary vertical plane from which all horizontal distances are measured for balance purposes
What is the station
A location along the airplane fuselage given in terms of the distance from the reference datum
What does Arm mean
The horizontal distance from the reference datum to the C of G of an item
What is moment
The product of the weight of an item and the arm
What is the centre of Gravity
The point at which the airplane or equipment would balance if suspended. Its distance from the reference datum is found by dividing the total moment by the weight of the airplane
What is the centre of gravity arm
The arm obtained by added the airplane’s individual moments and dividing the sum by the total weight
What is Centre of Gravity limits
The extreme centre of gravity locations within which the airplane must be operated at a given weight
