The speaker speaks about a city that she left as a child. The speaker has a positive view of the city. Perhaps is was a scene of conflict but she still protects the memory.

Poem does not rhyme, but there is a suggestion of a rhythmic pattern of five stresses to the line
Although she is positive she is also uneasy
Last stanza is longer because she can not let go
