30 Weeks in cold weather environments, as well as other marines and the reconnaissance operations for 3 Cdo Bde
Who do you work alongside as well as what do you fly in each sqn as a pilot officer?
You work with the Fleet Air Arm, but in the Commando Helicopter Force.
845 Naval Air Sqn- you can fly the Merlin Mk3 Helicopter supports 3 cdo bge in amphibious assaults.
846 NAS- again Merlin, but also Maritime Counter Terrorism and some are on standby for UKSF MCT which was maintained by 848 NAS with the Sea King but that was disbanded in 2016.
847 NAS- Flies the Wildcat AH Mk1 which was previously the Lynx AH9A in 2015. Their role is reconnaissance, ISTAR, Control of Joint Fires, Forward Air Control and Light Transport.
And Combat Service Support Sqn which is logistics and engineering support.
