what are red flags indicating severe pneumonia?
A
RR > 30, BP125, hypoxia < 60 or sat < 90%, leucs 20, multilobar involvement on CXR

What is the management for pneumonia not requiring admission to hospital?
A
- amoxicillin 1g TDS for 5/7 or
- clarithromycin 250mg BD for 5/7/ doxycycline 200mg stat then 100mg daily for 5/7
Review at 24-48 hours and if no improvement then combine 1 and 2
