fever with or without rigors, cough (often productive with green, blood-stained or rusty coloured sputum) , pleuritic chest pain, muscle or joint pain

High temperature (pyrexia)
Increased respiratory rate (tachypnoea)
Increased heart rate (tachycardia)
Chest sounds, in particular, coarse crackles on either one or both bases. Bronchial breath sounds will be heard on apexes
