Management of an opiate overdose?
Ensure airway is open
supplemental oxygen if required
Administer naloxone

Vomiting, ensure access to suction

400mcg
Initial dose of IV naloxone for children ages 5-11
2000mcg
Why do children receive a bigger initial dose of IV naloxone?
aim of totally reversing the opiate effect as quickly as possible.
At what age can nasal naloxone be given?
12 and above

proximal tibia: anteriomedial aspect of the tibia
