Define level 1 operations
Where ffs within 3m of water edge or enter water not deep enough to go over boots. And slow moving enough.
Define 2 operations
Ff committed to water to affect rescue. This includes any incident involving people in water. Must be carried out by fru except in exceptional circumstances
Define level 3 water
Flood rescue deployed. Significant number of ffs in water under guidance of fru crews

Initial information gathering should include
>number of people involved >where the casualty was last seen >are they wearing a life jacket >what was they wearing >any hazards, undercurrents etc
If there is a risk of ffs falling in what should the ic put in place
Safety officer in appropriate ppe and throw line
When working near moving water what should the ic put in place
Spotters up and downstream with throw lines
Describe Level 1 rescue hierarchy
Talk > reach > throw»_space;wade
Describe level 2 rescue hierarchy
Wade > row > tow
Can non fru ffs committ to swift water to effect a rescue
Yes but in very very critical situations when you can’t wait
If a ff is committed it must be declared level 2.
What are the conditions to commit a ff
>competent and capable >fully briefed >floating safety line supervisor >Correct Ppe >consider inflated fire hose >establish good comms >keep noise in the area to a minimum >gauge the depth.(ceiling hook) >monitor the rescuer >replace with fru asap
