A
  • highest grade
  • smooth and sound
  • shows no knots, splits, pitch pockets or other open defects
  • may contain a limited number of wood patches and repairs with synthetic fillers

A
  • solid surface free of open defects
  • may contain tight knots, tight splits, a slightly rough grain and a limited number of wood patches and synthetic filler repairs
  • may need minor sanding and may have other patched defects
