If the term ends in A, the plural must
Add an E, example Vertebra –> Vertebrae
If the term ends in EX or IS, the plural must
Drop the EX/IS and add ICES Appendix –> Appendices
If the term ends in IS, the plural must
Drop the IS and add ES Neurosis –> Neuroses
If the term ends in ITIS, the plural must
Drop the S and add DES Arthritis –> Arthritides
If the term ends in NX, the plural must
Drop the N and add GES Larynx –> Larynges
If the term ends in ON, the plural must
