What is Design?
An iterative decision-making process that produces plans by which resources are converted into products or systems that meet human needs and wants or solve problems.
Who is a Consumer?
A person or household that purchases goods or services.
Who is a Designer?
A person who designs any of a variety of things.
What is the Design Process?
A systematic, problem-solving strategy that designers follow to come up with a solution to a problem.
What does Aesthetics refer to?
Pleasing in appearance.
What are Design Elements?
The factors (line, color, light, shadow, space, texture) that define a product and take into account the aesthetics and function of the product.
What is Texture?
The feel, appearance, or consistency of a surface, substance, or fabric.
What is a Design Brief?
A written plan that identifies a problem to be solved, its criteria, and its constraints. It is used to encourage thinking of all aspects of a problem before attempting a solution.
What is Ergonomics?
The study of workplace equipment design or how to arrange and design devices, machines, or workspace so that other people and things interact safely and efficiently.
What is a Model?
An accurate representation of an object or phenomenon.
What does it mean to Annotate?
To make notes on a sketch to provide further information.
What are Dimensions?
A measure in one direction.
What is a Decision-Making Matrix?
A tool for comparing solutions against one another, using specific criteria that are based on design requirements.
What does Evaluate mean?
To form an idea of the amount or value of; assess.
